Sorry it has taken so long to get a reply to this! Of course quite a bit depends on the location of your planned secret garden...I love a variety of foliage in my secret garden, and have used hosta of various types, ferns, bleeding heart, bamboo, primula, climbing roses, false spirea, to name a few. My garden is very narrow, so it really has to be kept under control! Please let me know if I can share some pictures, or if you would like to see the garden sometime as it grows this spring!
